Starting them Young

Most of you know that D and I are big sports fans.  We love to cheer on our Wildcats and our girls are big fans too.  We decided to take a family trip down to Tucson to go to a game.  We met our good friends the Cottrells, who have kids the same ages as our kids.  Lucky for us our kids love their kids as much as we love the parents.  It's a win win for everyone!  We headed down Friday night and spent Saturday touring around campus, tailgating and then attending the football game.  We left after breakfast on Sunday since Chatty had a soccer game.  Everyone had a lot of fun but D and I were glad to get back to our own bed!

Bia wanted Daddy in the picture too ... he didn't mind posing with the girls

Thank A Veteran

Take some time today to thank a Veteran for their brave service. If it wasn't for the men and women who have served this country and continue to do so, we wouldn't be able to enjoy the freedoms we have today. My sincerest thanks go out to my grandfathers, fathers, uncle and my big brother! I appreciate all that you have done for your country! Mr. ESPN, Chatty, Bia and I are PROUD to be a part of your family!

Photographs

I can't believe it is that time of year again.  Time to start thinking about Christmas Cards and photos for the cards.  Last weekend a friend of a friend took some family photos of us.  Needless to say, it is always interesting trying to get both girls smiling and looking at the camera!  Our photographer was so patient and got some good ones.  Below is one of my favorite shots of the whole family ...

Halloween 2010

Another Halloween has come and gone ... so much anticipation by the kids and then it's over in a flash!  Every year we try to get pictures of the girls in their costumes prior to trick or treating and it is always a fight because they are so ancy to hit the road.  This year we decided to do a quick photo op after church to ensure we got some decent pictures.

Tinkerbell and a Phillies Baseball Player

In case you were wondering -
she was her favorite player - Chase Utley

Would you believe Tinkerbell lost her wand before trick or treating?
It is still MIA...

Fall Y'all

It's finally starting to feel a little like fall around here.  It is still warm during the day but the evenings are cool (well cool for us anyway)!  Last weekend we headed out to a local farm/pumpkin patch with some friends.  The girls had a lot of fun.

They practiced their roping skills

They met some scarecrows

They picked some pumpkins

They posed for a picture with Dad

They went on a hay ride

They rode horses

After the pumpkin patch we went to visit Uncle Greg who was in town for the weekend.  We had a hard time getting a good picture of them  as they were being super silly uncooperative...

Play lots and lots and lots of soccer

Visiting with friends

As if that wasn't enough activity for one week, I flew to NJ for work last week too.  A nice bonus was the fact that I was able to have dinner with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt D and Cousin R.  I wish D and the girls could have joined us!  This week looks like it is going to be just as busy!  Whew!

Everyhing I need to Know I Learned in First Grade

To say that Chatty is learning a lot this year is an understatement.  First they learned about volcanoes, then rocks and now the body - bones and muscles.  She got to ride the bus home on Friday afternoon and when she got off she was wearing this:

Nice work.  She even had her brain detailed on a headband

In other exciting news this week, Chatty lost another tooth!  Someone joked she was going to need dentures soon.

Chatty's soccer team had the week off but she was asked to sub on our sister team with girls a year older than her.  She did awesome - she held her own and almost scored a goal!  She loves playing with the older girls.  It helps that she is as tall as most of them.

She did a great job dribbling past the other team

Getting directions from Coach K (who is her regular coach too)

After the game we went the every one's favorite pizza place to cool off (it was over 100 degrees at game time)!
